Testimonials
From: Komal Bhojwani
When I decided to move to Los Angeles in 2004, I was referred to Cherryl Weaver. I needed to find a house within a week and close within 30 days, and I wanted a Realtor who could work quickly and efficiently.
I knew from Cherryl’s telephone message that she was not the typical Realtor: she set aside specific times of day to return calls. This was confirmed when I met her in person. At our first appointment, she had laid out strawberries and cream. In her office’s conference room in the Director’s Guild of America office building on Sunset Boulevard, I felt like a real star.
Cherryl explained to me the difference between the taxicab service
that most Realtors offer and her limousine service. I was very
impressed with her presentation and materials. She asked me a lot
of the standard questions: how much I wanted to spend or could
afford, what sort of neighborhood I was looking for, and so on.
But she also asked me much more important questions: could I
describe my dream house, how did I hope to feel when I walked in
the door, and so on.
I had bought and sold 6 houses by then, in Miami and New York, and
worked with countless Realtors. Not one of them had ever asked me
such important questions that got to the heart of the matter.
At the end of the presentation, Cherryl asked me to sign her contract, giving her the exclusive right to find a home for me. This was highly unusual but I needed to find a house quickly because I was relocating for work. I signed the contract.
Within a week’s time, Cherryl had lined up several appointments.
She was professional and communicative, sending me a steady stream
of emails as I had requested. She also hooked me up with a mortgage broker, Tammy Wink, who got me pre-approved quickly on great terms that helped me get more house for the money.
As it turned out, we found my dream home on the Internet. It was a
little above my price range and nowhere near the neighborhoods I
had asked Cherryl to search, but I asked her to call and ask about
it anyway. She reported back that the house had 4 pending offers on
it already and they were not considering any more. But having seen
pictures on the Internet and driven by the house, I felt strongly
that this was the one for me. I asked Cherryl to please please please somehow get me inside the house. Without questioning or second-guessing me, she got on it right away. She convinced the Realtor to let us into the house that afternoon on the proviso that if I liked it, I would have to submit an offer that evening. Cherryl met me at the house, and when we stepped inside, I knew that this was it. We went back to her office, and she helped me write up the offer and a letter to the seller to make sure I beat out the other 4 offers. Long story short, our offer was selected, even though someone else had offered a similar price.
Cherryl gives me credit for finding the house on the Internet but I
wouldn’t be in it if it weren’t for her skill in getting me in the door in the first place and guiding me through the closing process.
In escrow, Cherryl negotiated skillfully with the seller’s Realtor to make sure my interests were protected. There were a lot of tricky issues and if it weren’t for Cherryl’s expertise in handling the seller’s realtor, the deal might have fallen apart.
The first morning I drove up to the house and fished out the
keychain that Cherryl had given me, I was thrilled to open the door. It’s been just over a year and I love my house. The misty mornings and gorgeous sunsets remind me every day how lucky I am to be living here.
Cherryl is a warm and authentic person who befriends her clients and keeps their interests at heart. I refer Cherryl to everyone I know who’s seriously interested in buying a house in L.A. Life is too busy and the housing market here too insane to “do-it- yourself.” If you are committed to being in a home of your own, do yourself a favor and contact Cherryl.
